the rug is nice… but what about the rest of the oval office?

We know that the Oval office comes equipped with a lovely rug and an impressive desk but what else will Barack Obama do to make it his? New York magazine has some suggestions to hippen up the place, including a hide-away basketball game and a digital photo frame. What do you see fitting for our new President? Leave your suggestions here.

I think that Obama plans to use a different desk, possibly Lincoln’s.
Is there a reason the Oval Office is always so yellow? I have nothing against yellow — I quite like it myself. But it seems strange that every president keeps it about the same. Is it tradition? Is it superstition? Is it frugality? Is it because making mind-blowingly complicated decisions is somehow easier in a yellow room?
Color aside, I think Obama definitely needs a computer, some furniture that doesn’t look so formal and intimidating that you can’t imagine anyone ever sitting on it, and maybe a little desktop-sized replica of that Picasso statue in Daley Plaza.
I really hate the carpet! I suppose that’s a non-negotiable item, though. (Just in case he forgets where he works, he needs that definition on there?) I would love to see some big modern lamps and also a couple new modern-ish chairs. A nice balance between the stuffy and the modern would be nice.
