Basil goes with everything. :) Cilantro is great too!
Have to go with basil! Sliced up on top of tomatoes in summer — yum!
Thyme – mix it with chicken, potatoes, asparagus and lemon, all baked together. AMAAAAZING!
mmm. fresh basil.
Fresh Herbs make any meal better! This is great.
CILANTRO! In everything. Every. Thing. Hummus! Salad! With eggplant! On burritos! Pad Thai! It’s such a fresh, unique flavor and is a great addition for so many different cuisines.
I love basil too. My favorite way to use it in the summer is caprese salads!
I am so excited about this Target line!
Like most people who have commented, my favorite is basil. There is nothing better in the summertime to have some local tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and some basil. Amazing!
Basil is my favorite too!
Basil for sure. It grows like crazy even if you don’t have a green thumb and you can make the most wonderful fresh pesto! YUM!
I love Italian flat-leaf parsley. It is the most versatile of my usual herb reperotoire. I put it in just about everything–it adds a wonderful brightness that pairs well with most dishes. My favorite use of the herb is in big salads with lots of fresh greens and other fruits and vegetables.
I have been thinking about growing some herbs when I move into my new apartment next month. I had no idea to start, but these are some great comments!! What I definitely want to get is cilantro. Wonderful in pho, pad thai, and home made tacos :)
Basil – I am completely unoriginal I guess :) I love the stuff!
Mint! Mojitos are my favorite! :D
I have to say that I love mint. It smells clean and fresh all by itself, and is an essential ingredient in my summer drink of choice, the mojito!
I would love to start growing my own herbs, but I really can’t figure out how to cook with mint. It scares me.
Basil, in all of its obvious ways, but sometimes I like to just pick some to smell and gaze at admiringly.
I don’t know if I even have a favorite herb. I seem to need fresh basil most and buying it at the grocer’s always seems ridiculous. Do scallions count? maybe it’s cilantro mmm salsa. This is the full extent of knowledge I have on fresh herbs. Oh this and if they are growing in the lawn they are not a good thing according to neighbors. Maybe you should do a basic how to cook giveaway.
rosemary, basil, and lavender are staples but thyme has been working its way up the ranks for me lately. it goes in everything.
basil is a lovely scented herb that is not only delicious but a wonderful green in a small Waterford vase of cut flowers!
i love that target is offering more and more sustainable options!
bring on the basil pesto!
I’d love a mini herb garden. I always try to keep my basil plant alive, but I think I’m only my 3rd one in two years.
Definitely cilantro. Just a little bit makes a HUGE difference in everything from salsa to my favorite chicken stew.
I love MINT! in EVERYTHING
Basil. Chopped in pasta. Whole in salad. And any other way —
This is awesome, I must comment. :)
mmm, basil.
We’re hoping to start an herb garden this year! Hard to choose a favorite herb, but I guess I’d have to go with mint at the moment. Snip up just a few leaves with scissors for a surprising, spring-like addition to a fresh salad. Of course it’s great to add to all sorts of sunshiney drinks—lemonade, mojitos, raspberry fizz, arnold palmers, bourbon & ginger ale…
Cilantro is clearly the superior herb.
My favorite herbs are basil and rosemary. I discovered how wonderful they taste together when I tried a walnut encrusted chicken recipe created by Diamond Walnuts. There was also a similar recipe using the same herb mixture with walnuts on pasta that I adore. When I bought how this mixture fixed them.
Mojitos all the wayyyyy!!! I finally took two vacation days- Friday and Monday and gardened non-stop all weekend. The Mio gardens are perfect!!
It’s a toss-up between basil and rosemary. I’d have to say rosemary though because it will grow year round. I toss it into pastas, fresh salad, pasta salads, lambs, roasted veggies, when the garden is barren, I cut a few sprigs of rosemary to set on the table. I also use it in the bath.
I love to use fresh dill in deviled eggs. Who doesn’t?
