I usually like to be outside with dogs and/or children…they have so much fun on their own, I can just sit back and feel active just by watching them!
My favourite summer activity is definitely camping! Nothing beats a cold beer in front of the fire with good company.

here on the hot city streets of brooklyn we LOVE to bring out the sprinkler and run around on the sidewalk in front of our brownstone. the more the merrier. love seeing n’bors walk by and cool off by running their hands through the icy drops. the soundtrack of delight is priceless.

Bocce ball and grilling with friends of course! A little sangria, some veggie burgers on the coals, what could be better? What a cute giveaway! They’re all cute, but I especially adore the blue and green ones!
In the summer our new favorite activity is outdoor baths for the little ones!
Living in the desert makes outdoor activities somewhat grueling in the summer, but nothing beats grilling once the sun has gone down!
After work, I often pick up my “holds” from the library, and I love taking them into the backyard, sitting in one of the Adirondack chairs, and thumbing through them. By this time the sun has dipped behind the 6-story pines in my backyard, but the air is still warm and the birds are singing sweetly. The dog accompanies me in this ritual, and seems to enjoy it as much as I do.

Bathing the dog outside! He doesn’t mind being naked in front of the neighbors and I like leaving all the loose fur behind for the birds to recycle in their nests. Oh, they probably don’t, but I like to think Bucky is making a contribution. xoxo
Sailing! I have a little 2-person sailboat, and the bf, my pup and I like to pack a lunch and set sail for open waters. :.) Either that or spending the day at the nearby national park. Man, that place is all kinds of fun!
Camping! There’s the satisfaction in pitching a perfectly-secured tent, the way food tastes better when it’s cooked outdoors. There’s hiking, biking, fishing, and swimming. Oh, and mellow time around the campfire!
I love sitting in the park, eating a picnic lunch with my husband. Suddenly, life becomes much slower and relaxing.
My favorite outdoor activity is lounging in the hammock with the baby late at night.

We live in an area of Los Angeles that gets very hot and we do not have air conditioning. I love to hang out in the backyard, under the cool shade of our tree with a cold drink, a stack of magazines and my dogs by my side until it’s time for bed!
Summer evenings are the best! Sitting on the patio with friends and a bottle of wine, or two, or three. ; )
Hanging out on the front porch, chatting with the neighbors, and enjoying the fresh air and sunshine.
Oh outdoor beach volleyball! And pizza and blanket in the sand. Of course with this outdoor set I could probably go for something that isn’t hands only eating.
BBQ’ing with Family & Friends! And of course, Ladderball!!

free ice cream and caramel corn with a variety of live shows at the peninsula town center every saturday afternoon. i love my city.

I live in Austin, so the summer days here are HOT. There’s nothing better than spending the day out on Lake Travis water skiing with friends.
I love have a vegetable garden and getting to grill a lot of our meals. Yum!
Nothing is better than a late afternoon cook out with family and friends followed by floating around the pool til our fingers turn wrinkley.
I like to find the least-manicured lawn to play croquet on. Invite drunkard friends over to the croquet battlefield and have 911 on one-touch dialing.

I live in the Aleutians…we like to fish for king crab with subsistence pots and jsut enjoy seeing green instead of brown!!

I enjoy taking my boys to the Jamison Fountain in Portland. Also, we love going to the farmers market every Saturday morning to have breakfast/lunch and grab some beautiful, fresh produce!
