Oh… i almost forgot, if you wear these when you mop, you don’t have to worry so much about keeping your feet off of the spot you just mopped. If you keep them clean, they won’t leave marks, and it’s more comfortable than mopping barefoot.

Actually, these do have a use. I am a housekeeper and I wear these when I mop the floor. I use them to get behind toilets, underneath cabinets, into corners, and other places I normally would have to get down on my hands and knees with a rag to clean. I also use them to rub out stubborn spots of sticky stuff on the floor. I’ve used them with regular mopping and steam mopping. They are also great for absorbing spots of too much water when mopping. Obviously, they are not gonna do away with your broom or mop, but if you want your floors to get really clean, these are very helpful for getting into spots where your mop can’t reach. You can also take off the bottom of them and just velcro any old micro fiber cloth to them.

ita-darling is right. I have these and they are a disappointment. To get the floor truly clean you have to walk up close to the walls, into the corners, places you don’t generally go. So you might as well just get the broom out? Or a Roomba? I bet that’s not as wonderful as it looks either.

ita-darling is probably right. I have the mitt form of these (it looks like a potholder made out of Muppet). It works fine if you really put some muscle into it, but I can’t imagine how it would work in slipper form. I think you’d need some sort of weird stompy/slidey motion to do even a mediocre cleaning job, which totally negates the point of having comfy slippers that do housework.

I was thinking they’re probably better than my usual “ignore the floors” routine, but thanks for your honest review. I’m thinking alternative to disposable swiffer cloths, not a mop alternative. Have you actually tried them?

Sorry to burst ye ‘ol wishful thinking bubble, but these don’t really work! Maybe if you don’t have any pets, and are just dry dusting, but they are hardly an effective form of combat against a rigorously shedding labrador. :(
