want it now: extra-large triangular bathtub

tribath
I don’t have the room for this, which only makes me want it more. This freestanding, triangular tub (“big enough for two adult bathers” — !) is part of the Axor Massaud line from manufacturer Hansgrohe. The tub is designed to be relatively lightweight at 165 pounds despite being a roomy 74-1/2″ wide, 60-1/4″ deep and 24-3/8″ high. Are any of you lucky enough to have a bathroom that is just as expansive? –Mary T.

It’s a beautiful piece, and if my boyfriend and I forge ahead renovating his second floor the way we imagine, we might have room for it; but I don’t think we can justify (much less afford) a ten thousand-dollar bathtub!

Have just been shopping for a tub for a new master suite. Some of these beauties don’t work so well for short folks like me, I’m 5’3″. You slide right down the tub and your head is at a not-so-great angle for lounging. If you do have your heart set on this tub, you should definitely sit in it first in the showroom! it makes all the difference in the world.

Naomi, I am 5’9″ and in our previous house, when we redid our bathroom, my only requirement was that we have at least a six-foot tub. We did, but of course in classic style, as soon as the bathroom was finished, we had to put our house on the market as we were moving to Seattle. I used that glorious tub exactly ONCE.

our bathroom is 5′x7′. i could only wish to have the room for a tub like this one. i will just clip the photo out and add it to my ideas book where i can enjoy it by dreaming about it.

on another note how much water would that baby take to fill up?
