While keeping up with the Joneses might be hard, and Keeping Up with the Kardashians just plain silly, keeping up with the Petersiks of Young House Love is a guilty pleasure for anyone with a love of DIY. John and Sherry Petersik met in Manhattan and bought their first house in Richmond, Virginia. The rest is history — their history, from their DIY backyard wedding (that they pulled off to the tune of $3,995) to their room-by-room home makeover on the cheap. Half the fun lies in watching them sharpen their DIY skills and grow their business. Since starting the blog, John & Sherry’s marriage-to-mortgage tale garnered such a following, both have made transforming the homes of others into their full-time gig.
