help! how do i display my cds?

I have a ton of old CDs that are not being used due to the convienience of mp3 players. I cannot part with them so they just collect dust in those CD books, taking up space. I love music and was thinking it would be interesting to display the ones that have colorful artwork. I have searched the Internet to see if anyone has crafted such a thing, but only come up with CD storage frames. Anyone have any idea how to frame cds in a collage without having to ruin them with glue?
Hmm…Well, Chana, we actually like the storage frames at Billboard CD Frame — is it not having a case that’s the problem, or are you simply looking for a more 2D solution? You could try attaching the case art to a magnetic board like this one, or slipping them into a ribboned bulletin board. You could also try adapting this Curbly DIY on hanging photos using a wire (photo here). But maybe you want a more finished, framed look. Readers, any suggestions?

I have a much larger DIY version of the Billboard Frame in a spare room, I’ve had it since high school and I still like the modern pop feel, but it is still probably only a tiny percentage of your CDs. Maybe a line of plain thin picture ledges would hold more? (or even just some moldings tacked up, they are pretty light).
I also inserted some between books on my bookshelves, so there is a line of books and then a deep pile of CDs with the front one showing amongst the book spines every so often, like so: |||||[ ]|, this is more storage and fewer display, I’m ashamed to admit I picked my favorite ones that match the room decor to front the shelf…
Oh, or if you are just looking at the discs themselves I’d say tumbtacks.
In my office I have CDs floating from their middle hole over a t-pin. Works for regular grid-spacing or a more organic swoosh effect.
OR, (gosh I have a lot of CDs) I like them en masse on a dowel, even the ones with boring colors look really nifty from the side because of the rainbow-ish effect, so vertical or horizontal stack(s) also here in the office look really cool in the light.
you don’t. and who has cd’s anymore?
can you drill holes at the corner of two rectangles of plexi and sandwich the CDs between the two pieces? as long as the CDs don’t shift while you’re screwing the two plexi sheets together, it shouldn’t scratch up the backs. then you could just put hanging wire or ribbon between the top two screws, put some felt circles on the back of the screws and hang.
Put them next to your records, cassettes and VHS Tapes. I put mine in a little unobtrusive round bin in the corner of the room.

its funny, i have not thought about storing cds since i started using an ipod. i usually just hide the original cd in the closet and forget about it after i download it onto my computer.
