have you ever baked in paper pans?

It’s that time of year when I start planning my holiday gifts. I often bake goodies to give away instead of buying presents. When I give a decadent batch of brownies or a tasty almond cake, I always deal with the issue of how to package the present. I’ve learned to buy discount serving pieces at Marshall’s or TJ Maxx to give as part of the gift, but sometimes that takes a little bit too much planning. I saw these paper pans at King Arthur Flour and I think I might give them a try. It will certainly give my treats a professional look, but can you really bake in paper?! Has anyone used a paper pan before? — Erica P.

I have used them. They’re great. I’ve also seen them at Sur La Table, in case you don’t want to wait for them to be shipped.
I used them last Christmas for the first time. Prior to that I used the disposable foil ones from the grocery store, but I wanted something prettier. I ordered them on line and they worked great. They are the same ones in your picture, I just used mini loaf pans. I will be using them again this year.
There is a picture of my many, mini loaves of lemon bread in this post. You can kind of see the paper pans.

What will you be making in your pans?

I cooked with paper pans for the first time last Christmas and I will never use anything else for gift giving from now on. I, too, was initially skeptical, but I used the mini loaf pans and they were fantastic – my breads cooked evenly and looked ready to give without any extra effort.
