steal this idea: onesie-decorating baby shower

We love this idea for a baby shower spotted at Offbeat Mama: a party where guests decorate onesies for the impending arrival — but the hitch is, it “doesn’t suck”! Author Joriel Foltz points out that even though not everyone is a gifted artist, “as a long-time crafter, I have faith that anyone can make something adorable with the right tools and support.” Visit Offbeat Mama for her guidelines, and view more fun photos here.

My friends have been doing the create-a-onesie activity at our baby showers for a few years now! Definitely better than most of the typical games, though ours have never turned out so cute as these! We always used puff paint and paint markers. I think we’ll have to try the iron-on fabric shapes for the shower coming up in February!

We did this for my baby shower, except we did it as a tie-dye party, using supplies from Dharma Trading. SO MUCH FUN.

We did it at my shower too… so awesome! We ended up with some creative onesies! Our friends got various sizes, so our 9 month old still has some she hasn’t worn yet, which is nice. This is great for co-ed showers!

We did this for a friend’s shower last year and it was so much fun. Better than most shower games. We picked onesies in a lot of different sizes so the baby is still rockin some of them and his mama has kept the earlier ones as mementos.
