hello, old friend: polaroid returns

welcomebackpolaroid

All I have to say is, HALLELUJAH! I saw the good news over on The World’s Best Ever and wanted to share it with you all:

“The brand is back with plans to re-release the old instant film cameras and the iconic Color 600 instant film. Here’s a look at the new Polaroid PIC 1000, which is scheduled to be released later this year. The new camera should cost less than USD $100.”

Welcome back, Polaroid! Welcome back! — Erica P.

I cannot wait to get my hands on this camera. I am so glad the instant camera is making a comeback!

i think the film is about 30 bucks a pack, but i wanna get one just because its so beautiful.

on top of it, did you hear that lady gaga was named as polaroid’s creative director? hope it works out for them!

btw, the world’s best ever link didn’t work for me. maybe their site is just down?

What Polaroid leaves out of all of its little announcements is that NONE of this would be happening if not for the IMPOSSIBLE PROJECT. http://www.the-impossible-project.com
They are the ones who have reinvented polaroid film–without the help of Polaroid–and Lady Gaga and the rest of it is just marketing by Polaroid, a company that does not care about its workers nor the artists and consumers who use its products.
Why does this matter to me? As a polaroid artist, as well as someone who knows the hard work and grassroots activism that it has taken to bring back polaroid-compatible film, it’s outrageous to see this gross admission in the press releases by Polaroid.
