A haiku for a Perfect Rug:

Lackluster bare floors
Yearn for warmth and soft comfort
Perfect Rug, come home!

I need a new rug because I think it would help me create an entry way into our home – now you just open the door and bang you are in our great room, but I think a rug would help the transition and distinguish and entry way.

Stephanie

I need a perfect rug because my puppy ripped seams out of the most expensive and beautiful rug I’ve ever bought :(

Danny B.

I NEED a new rug to match my drapes!

I just moved into a new apartment and had to significantly downsize; however, none of my old rugs work with the rich vibe of my new, sexy place — I need a Perfect Rug!

We currently live in an amazing basement apartment. The building’s intent (and success!) is for artists to occupy these spaces. Lofty open floor plans, high ceilings, lots of windows, AND COLD (visually and temperature-wise) GRAY SEALED CONCRETE FLOORS. Minnesota winters linger until June in this floor and return in September! I ask the heat to sink instead of rise, but it still obeys the general rules of heat rising (warming up the floor of my upstairs neighbor), and cold sinking. I need a perfect rug to break the monotony of the large gray floor, to deter depression and keep my toes from getting frostbite. My starving artist status allows me to buy things like food and rent and art supplies. Not rugs. Heck, I might get a little more adult cred if I had a perfect rug! Guests might not have to bring their own slippers over anymore when they visit. One never knows… until they receive the perfect rug ;)

i’ve been looking for the perfect rug (within my budget) for 2 years! my living room is mostly neutral furniture (beige couch, black tables/bookcase/etc) with mostly red/yellow/orange wall art. i need something that defines the seating area, brightens up the room (very little natural light) without clashing with the current furniture/wall art

My mom said that I have to write and see if I could win her a new rug. I am about to turn 1 and mom says I have “trashed” the living room. I have had a few accidents and forgot to pee outside. But my little brother, a really annoying Jack Russell, has done it before too! I love our rug, it smells all doggy and has lots of really cool patterns (mom calls them stains). I would promise to start eating my bones in the kitchen, sleep only on the dog bed and not roll around on the new rug.I haven’t had an accident in a long time and will not let my brother influence me with his bad behavior. If we got a new rug maybe my mom could stop spraying me with that stupid “baby dog” spray, jeesh. From, Fiona the lab/pit mix ( sometimes mom calls me The Ogre Princess)

I desperately NEED a new rug because our adorable dog destroyed our last rug when she was still puppy training. We also have yet to have a real “adult” rug, most of our have been from Home Depot or Ikea.

True story:
I have two dogs, both little poodles. One is small and white, sweet and sprightly. The other is… well, we call her our little bear-dog. She’s… Rubenesque, a full-figured gal, if you will.

The little white dog has no problem jumping off our furniture onto the bamboo floors in our apartment. Her tiny footsteps almost tinkle when she lands, she’s so graceful. Our little bear-dog? Well, being the full-figured gal that she is, if she tries to jump off of the bed onto the floor on her own, her bulk causes her legs to immediately go into a “split” position, bopping her little chin and tummy on the hard wood in a most unpleasant belly flop.

Imagine a furry cannonball on chopsticks hitting a wooden deck and you’ve just about got the idea of what happens.

I, being a student, am very poor. Very. Poor. I can barely afford a $30 Ikea rug, much less something large enough to line and define the bedroom and give our voluptuous puppy a soft landing pad.

This is where the perfect rug comes in. With a rug, Ribbit (so named because she hops like a frog when she’s excited) will have enough traction to keep her teeny paws from slipping out from under her when she leaves the bed, and I won’t have to worry about her getting a concussion when her silly head hits the floor.

Perfect Rug, save both me and Ribbit from this headache and help us really tie the (bed)room together.

I have a 13 year old.
I have a 10 year old.
(Let’s face it, my husband is the senior child, to boot.)

I have a dog.
I have three cats.
I have six chickens.
(Ok, the chickens don’t live in the house, but my kids track hay and chicken food through so they might as well.)

I need a rug for my bedroom floor for when I hide under my bed to cry.

No story here. I just need The Perfect Rug so that I don’t have to step out of bed onto hardwoods in the morning. It is especially unpleasant in the cold winter months.

My boyfriend and I recently combined houses and finding a rug that works with the bf’s awesome (un-ironic) 80′s modern Berlin bachelor furnishings and my beachy asian bohemian Ikea goods has been beyond my capabilities (and our budget). Add to that a “slow to housebreak” new shelter pup that is thrilled that the current sisal rug is *just like* the great outdoors and a partially sealed concrete floor that yields up paint chips and pebbles on a regular basis, and we have a fairly good argument for a custom solution, I think.

I have many places that could use the perfect rug… the living room (which currently has two walmart “temporary” rugs), the redone bedroom, the hallway, really, just about anywhere needs some new rugs in my house.

I would love to get the perfect rug so i could hide the animal stained worn out cheap-o carpet in our living room of our rental!

My three year old son’s room has bright purple shag carpet. ‘Nuff said.

I have been searching a long time for a rug for my foyer area that would capture a little bit from each of the rooms in the my open floor plan :) Hopefully, this will be my chance!

Oh, I SO need the perfect rug. The large (and expensive) one I bought for our living room about six months ago is anything but. It’s a shag-style which, I didn’t realize when I purchased, CAN’T BE VACUUMED except with an attachment. I know – awful. Add to that the fact that it still sheds (to the point of having little rug tumbleweeds throughout our house) and you could say we REALLY need a new rug!

Jesselyn

Because the Ikea rug in the living room is JUST NOT CUTTING IT, and I can’t stand looking at my apartment’s terrible carpeting ANYMORE

Ellie

Blah Beige Berber in my Bedroom. That famous high traffic area. (just in case there is a misunderstanding, my bedroom is NOT in fact a high traffic area.)

Sarah

I have two children under 4 and two old Pugs. The carpet in our main living area is constantly getting dirty! We rent a Rug Doctor every few months to clean it but it’s costly and the cleanliness doesn’t last long enough. Just this morning I was thinking about finding a new rug or carpet remnant in a darker shade to maybe hide some of the daily wear and tear. I would love, love, love to win this giveaway! Thanks!

Oh what I wouldn’t do for a new rug! For years, I have gone directly to the rug clearance section of every home decor website I visit – debating size, color, texture, price. Historically, a new rug was more about comfort (and attempting to corral dog hair dust bunnies). Today, however, it is a lot more about style. You see, after ten years in my 1922 cottage, I am finally painting rooms and rooms of orangey pine, never-been-painted-before bead board – which matched the orangey pine floors and all of my wooden antique furniture. Two rooms down and my house is already feeling more like a quaint cottage than a dark library. All of my furniture and artwork pops in the new spaces, but I need a rug (or two) to go with the new feel and help me move from an eclectic mish-mash to real style.

I need a perfect rug because I have returned more than I care to admit.
Thanks!

Shawna

I need a new rug because we just bought our first house! We’re going from a little 1 bedroom apartment – 700 sq feet – to 1500 sq feet! We don’t have enough stuff to fill it up!

Lindsey

I need to cover the outdated ceramic tile floor in the foyer that I just don’t want to see anymore, but can’t afford the time, inconvenience and money that it would take to replace it.

Oh, how I need a perfect rug: because I’ve never even had an imperfect rug! Once upon a time I had an outdoor rug indoors, but I think we can all agree that a temporary outdoor rug does not a perfect rug make.

Ani

I need it because we just bought our first house and it’s all wood floors in every room so we NEED rugs! The only one I currently own is rainbow stripes, picked out by my little sis way back when we were roommates. The new hubby is not a fan :) A The Perfect Rug rug would increase the sophistication level of our new place by 1000 points!

Ooh! What a great prize! Why you should pick me: I’m closing on my first house in Brooklyn this week, and it is going to be a long time before I can afford to put lovely rugs on the sad, naked floors of my soon-to-be new living room. It’s a shame, too, because my boyfriend and I will need a place to comfort our feet after working long, hard hours on this fixer-upper!

Z

We need a perfect rug because our space is so hard to fit – open, yet with odd angles… And our oh-so-cute but oh-so-active pup doesn’t help matters, either (he’s destroyed a rug or two in his time…)

Jenne

I just moved into a completely adorable 1922 bungalow that is 494 square feet.
It has beautiful wood floors in the living room, but I sometimes like to sit on the floor when I have friends over to play games on my grandmother’s gorgeous coffee table, which you can see in the picture here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jennebergstrom/4721563223/

So what it really needs is an equally adorable area rug! You can totally come to game night and see it in action.

Katie D

Because I bought a rug. And now I hate it. My husband won’t let me buy another, because, oh hey – we just bought a rug. And it’s too late to return it. So I desperately need design god interference so that we can have a new rug.

Dana

I have been looking and looking for the perfect area rug for my living room for MONTHS. My daughter is six months old now and is ramping up to crawling. I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened this week. I don’t like to sit her down on the wood floors for fear she’ll bonk her head when she throws herself onto her tummy. It’s quite the sight to behold!

We need something cushy and fun to crawl and roll on … plus something that looks nice in all the pictures that are bound to be taken on it as my little hits her milestones. I was going to do Flor tiles out of desperation, but they don’t feel quite right either. Please pick me so I don’t have to settle for something that doesn’t make me smile!
