holy real estate envy!

For some people, that old saying of “home is your sanctuary†becomes a little more literal. I’m feeling one deadly sin in particular (envy!) gazing at these amazing pictures that originally ran on Chicago’s RedEye blog. This 4,000-square-foot (!) Chicago home is a former Lutheran church. Not only does it feature dual oak staircases and gorgeous stained glass windows, but a bell tower, pulpit, and stage. Hallelujah! — Katie D.

the only reason i’d buy that place is to finally play catch in the house. you have not excuse not to let that happen it you have 4000 sq ft
Hallelujah indeed! What an amazingly versatile (and more than a little indulgent) home. Think of the parties, dance rehearsals, art shows…
This is too funny because there is a newly renovated church as house for sale in downtown SF right now too being billed as a ‘Castle in the Park’! I’m drooling over it. We joke that we should get our 20 closest friends together and go in and buy it :) http://www.601dolores.com/
Or T-Bone, “don’t touch the floor” to make it across the knave would be an awesome feat.
There is a church that has been for sale near me, it is on the Erie Canal. Saying goes, it was built by a man for his fiance, who wanted to get married at home in England, so his solution was to bring the church stone by stone to America. It could be awesome but needs to be gutted and also seems to be on the register of historic places…
