etsy find: rotating bike wheel pot rack

potrack

It’s a hidden kitchen secret that just about everyone has. There’s always (at least) one cabinet that is filled so thoroughly that it barely shuts. One false nudge will cause the whole shebang to tumble out. Mine is full of a jumble of pots that seem to multiply every time I force the darn cabinet closed! I came across the solution in etsy seller plaidclad’s rotating bike wheel pot rack. The item is sold out on their store, but it seems easy enough to recreate as a diy with a few s-hooks and an old bike wheel. — Katie D.

I remember seeing instructions for making one in Readymade magazine. Happily, the details are posted online! http://www.readymade.com/projects/article/pot_rack1

Is it stiff enough to prevent tipping around when a pot is removed from one side?

I love the bike wheel pot holder. Anyone worried about stability or weight of pots, might want to have a look at mine on a page of my website:
http://homes.midmaine.com/~shaffer/forge.html It is attached into the floor joists above with long lag screws and can hold an enormous amount of weight. Any welder can easily make it and the material cost very little.
