I’ve been making this relish for years. With a mix of spices, raisins and orange, it adds the perfect punch to the tart cranberries. Still, every year or so, I give a new recipe a try. I’ve tried spicy versions with jalapeños, chunky ones with apples, a pared-down version with just a splash of verjus — yet it’s this recipe I keep coming back to. Cranberry Relish

Ingredients
12 oz. bag cranberries, rinsed
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup orange juice
1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
1/8 tsp. Cloves
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 cup golden raisins
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Combine sugar, spices and orange juice in a medium saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Add cranberries and raisins; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and stir gently for 3-4 minutes or until all the cranberries pop. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Mix in pecans and pour into serving dish. Refrigerate until serving.

This is our family favorite. Its a cranberry jello salad:
1 lb. cranberries ground up
1 sm. can mandarin oranges chopped up (save liquid)
3 cups sugar
1 lg. can crushed pineapple drained (save liquid)
1 gala apple peeled and chopped up
2 sm. pkg. sugar free jello 1 lemon and 1 orange or mixed fruit
Mix cranberries and oranges with sugar and let stand for 1 hr. Then mix in pineapple and apple. Make both pkgs of jello with 3 cups liquid total. Use liquid from oranges and pineapple for the cold and make up difference with boiling water. Mix fruit and sugar mixture in with dissolved jello. Refrigerate for 1 to 1.5 hours in large bowl. When it starts to set up ladle into serving bowls gently stir then finish refrigerating. ( If you don’t mix it up again during refrigeration the fruit will all settle in the bottom. )
This is my grandmother’s recipe from the 50’s and I’ve converted everyone who’s ever had it so let me know what you think!?!
