steal this idea: chalkboard ornaments

Perhaps it’s the writer in me that finds décor you can write on so irresistible lately. Whatever the reason, I fell hard again, this time for these adorable chalkboard ornaments from Granit, Sweden’s super-cool home organization and decoration shop. With no stores outside Scandinavia and no online shopping, what am I — and other scribble-obsessed holiday decorators — to do? Make them! Most of us have some old ornaments that could use some updating, and Martha Stewart has an easy recipe for creating chalkboard paint in custom colors (i.e., red and green). Plus, Google Translate can tell you how to write your favorite holiday greetings in 50+ languages to bring a little worldliness to the festivities. Mír na zemi! –Ginny F.

how totally adorable is this? thanks so MUCH for sharing!!

I love it. I’m assuming you could do any color “chalkboard”.

I’m loving the chalkboard trend. Absolutely love the chalkboard paint that has been getting great buzz the last year or so. And this holiday season in addition to this ornament, I have seen chalkboard candles, chalkboard ceramic coffee mugs, chalkboard duct tape. So Cool!
