post off: are you a coupon clipper?
I grew up with a mom who was an expert bargain hunter. She knew exactly which stores had the best prices on what things and kept a meticulous file of coupons. She wasn’t as extreme as those women you see on the news who get a huge cart full of groceries for practically free, but she definitely instilled in me a passion for frugality. I try my best to find and use coupons for whatever I can; be it online, in stores, dining out, or the newest rage, Groupon-style discounts. It’s getting to the point where if I can’t get what I’m shopping for at a discount I won’t get it at all. I know I’m not the only one who scours sites like Coupon Cabin for promo codes and signs up for every email list just for the juicy deals. Are you as bargain-obsessed as I am, or do you end up paying full price occasionally? Any hot money saving tips or sites you’d care to share? — Megan B.

My favorite place to find coupons is http://www.thecouponclippers.com
For coupon and upcoming sale info http://www.slickdeals.net
Both can completely change the way in which you shop.
I love coupons. For groceries, restaurants, retail – you name it, I love them! The highlight of my Sunday morning is clipping the coupons out of the newspaper over coffee. Dorky, I know.
This is a great site for just about everything – http://www.bradsdeals.com/ and when I purchase online I always go through Ebates – http://www.ebates.com/ which gives you cash back on your purchases. It’s not much but getting an unexpected check in the mail once a month for any amount is okay by me!
i almost always surf for a “free shipping” or “save 10%” off when shopping online, and i would say i have success finding a code about 75% of the time. i get a little feeling of satisfaction when i save a few bucks that way.
I will use coupons for home or clothing purchases, but never for food or grocery purchases. I purchase a lot of raw ingredients, and don’t need a lot of the stuff that coupons are offer for. I sort of think of grocery coupons as a scam – would you buy that item if you didn’t have a coupon? For big purchases I shop relentlessly for deals, sales, and rebates though and I always try to buy from online shopping sites that offer free shipping.
i was randomly scrolling through the tv the other day and caught this…

A tv show all about coupons! Crazy!
I’m with Sonya – I rarely buy any food or cleaning supply that has a coupon, altho my local grocery store chain has started giving out coupons for produce and $N off total grocery bill over $NN.
I could be much better at this. So far I’ve just done newspaper coupons for groceries, and the savings were so paltry we gave up. It felt like we were spending more on the papers than we were saving! I know there’s an art to it, but I’m totally left brained when it comes to couponing :)
I go through phases of trying to clip coupons/find them online but my lack of online coupon knowledge always leads to frustration when trying to search out the best sites! What a big help all these recommendations will be! Thank you.
