want it now: anthropologie’s milk bottle measuring cups

As many of us are reminded often, Anthropologie can be a cruel and unrelenting mistress; a siren who lures us in with her gorgeous wares only to have our bank accounts come crashing down on the jagged rocks of reality. I’m swooning over the Verdant Bread Bin, for example, but my wallet is drawing a hard line in the sand at the $158 price tag. One item I can get away with? This set of Milk Bottle Measuring Cups, $24. The colored enamel interior is an adorable detail in this stackable set, and the compact size and palatable price can surely sweet talk both my tiny kitchen and little budget into a guilt-free purchase. — Sarah C.

THis would make a fabulous gift for a bridal shower.
Can you register at Anthropologie? If you can, I might consider getting married all over again.

These are adorable! But be careful: I have some different adorable measuring cups from Anthro and they are completely unreliable as actual measuring cups. The measurements are *super* inaccurate, so I just use them as cute kitchen accessories instead.
How cute! Anthropologie has the best stuff — where in the world can you find the cutest measuring utensils but here?!
Second that on the gifts! Bridal shower, housewarming, mom’s birthday – this is perfect!!
Apparently I missed the end of the recession. Everyone must have snapped up lovely, secure, high paying jobs when I wasn’t looking… $158 for a bread bin? One that keeps your bread tucked away in a dark airless tub where mold is 10x more likely to grow? Am I too practical or just old, not sure, but there’s no way that would ever make it on my must have list.
I was just realizing today that I really need new measuring cups. I LOVE these — though I’ll probably end up with a basic stainless set.
Wow, that’s gorgeous. Wish you hadn’t shown it to me! Although I already have two bread bins; one’s a vintage square tin British one that says “Bread” on the front, I keep my various kinds of flour in it. And I have a fake retro one from Typhoon that was a shower gift. We do keep bread in that one.
Greta, I don’t think Anthropologie has a registry, but there are several registries online where you can list good from any online retailer. I think Amazon is one that does it.
