the omnivore's hundred: would you eat it?

Truffles? Blini? Insects? From the ridiculous to the sublime, Very Good Taste wants to know what you would eat. Their meme, The Omnivore’s Hundred (found via Voracious) has gone worldwide in very short time. It’s a list of 100 items that you answer if you’ve eaten, would eat, or would never eat, following some simple rules:

1) Copy this list into your blog or journal, including these instructions.
2) Bold all the items you’ve eaten.
3) Cross out any items that you would never consider eating.
4) Optional extra: Post a comment at Very Good Taste linking to your results.

My list is below — we’d love to see yours! –Mary T.

strangely appealing: creepy cafe au lait bowls

‘Tis the season for creepy tableware, but would these bat cafe au lait bowls be fun after October 31st? From Finnish designer Sami Rinne (we’ve enthused about his mugs before) these hand-made ceramic bowls could be used every day: They’re good for soup, cereal, or ice cream. Sold exclusively through Cloudberry Living in the UK, for about $56 — order now for December delivery.

look what we got: lollipop pottery mugs!

Forgive my recurring enthusiasm, but when I saw the Lollipop Pottery mugs in person at Click! this weekend, they were even better than I expected. We brought home two monster mugs, and we not only love how they look, but how they feel — a nice, thick handle and rounded rim. Even better was when Click! owner Frances Smersh pointed out what those monsters are yelling about. Want to see for yourself? Click the link! –Mary T. (more…)
